Project Manager (Protection)

Job Description:
The Project Manager (Protection) will be responsible for the overall implementation, management, coordination, and reporting of the Protection Project in the Eastern Region, primarily in Nangarhar Province. The position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and proven management experience to ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes in compliance with donor requirements and OMID’s standards.
The incumbent will lead a multidisciplinary project team and serve as the key liaison between OMID, donor agency, other implementing partners, government authorities, and community stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Relations, Business Administration, Agriculture, Project Management, or other relevant fields is required.
• Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields is preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience in managing large-scale development and/or consortium projects, of which at least 3 years should be in a managerial position with national or international NGOs.
• Previous experience managing Protection-focused projects is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of international humanitarian and development principles, community empowerment, and protection programming (including GBV prevention and gender mainstreaming).
• Proven experience in policy analysis, advocacy, and program development related to protection and community resilience.
• Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
• Demonstrated experience in project budgeting, financial management, and donor compliance.
• Familiarity with coordination structures, especially cluster systems at regional levels.

• Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• High degree of flexibility and problem-solving ability in complex contexts.
• Fluency in English, Pashto, and Dari.
