Job Summary
Responsible for researching, gathering, and verifying information to develop and produce accurate sports news stories and articles. Presents sports news and related programs on screen, conducts interviews and live reports, prepares articles and headlines, coordinates with producers and guests, and supports video editing and broadcast production while ensuring content follows editorial standards.
Key Responsibilities
·         Gathers information and facts, develops stories and writes sport articles.
·         Investigates, observes, and conducts interviews to gather information for sport articles.
·         Reports on current measures at the local, state, and/or national & international level about sport events.
·         narration of reports
·         Presents sport News and sport related Shows.
·         Must have good ability to present on screen.
·         Consult the questions with the producer of the show.
·         Help producers invite guests to ensure a balanced panel.
·         Writes article and headlines; prepares copy for publication.
·         May take photographs or video footage of objects or places of significance.
·         Gathers and verifies factual information regarding story through interview, observation, and research.
·         Organizes material, determines slant or emphasis, and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
·         Monitor police and fire department radio communications to obtain story leads
·         Edit, or assist in editing, videos for broadcast
·         Appear on television program when conducting taped or filmed interviews or narration
·         Give live reports from site of event or mobile broadcast unit
·         May be assigned to outlying areas or foreign countries and be designated correspondent or foreign correspondent.
·         Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in journalism, law and political science, Dari, Pashto Literature or related filed.
·         Two years of related experience required.
·         Excellent writing and editing skills.
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·         Excellent research skills.
·         Ability to conduct interviews and gather information.
·         Excellent typing skills.
·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
·         Proficient with desktop publishing software.
