Job Summary

The Power Engineer is responsible for advanced technical management, monitoring, and maintenance of telecom power infrastructure across GSM sites and telecom hub facilities to ensure reliable power supply for network equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement preventive maintenance programs for telecom power equipment.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of diesel generators and power systems.
  • Diagnose complex faults in generators, electrical panels, and power distribution networks.
  • Monitor power system performance and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain battery banks, rectifiers, UPS systems, transformers, and grounding systems.
  • Coordinate restoration activities during network outages.
  • Support installation and commissioning of telecom power equipment.
  • Monitor fuel consumption and generator operational performance.
  • Maintain technical documentation and maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with company power operation standards.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Must have 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Fluent in one of the local languages (Dari, Pashto) and English (written and spoken).
  • Must have good knowledge of computer programs.
  • Familiarity with relevant software, tools, and technology specific to the role.
  • Relevant certificates are an asset.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Upholds integrity and honesty.
  • Capable of performing well under pressure.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during work.
  • Willingness to travel to other provinces and work additional hours.
  • Adheres to company rules and policies.
